Brittany Durant and Scott Merritt Make it Official…

You may already recognize this couple who had their wedding on December 19th, 2009. We’ve worked with Brittany and Scott since the beginning–from the full bridal shoot and engagement session to the wedding. We shot the wedding in Salisbury, North Carolina and it truly was a winter wonderland. They were married at Omwake Dearborn Chapel on the campus of Catawba College. The day before the wedding, everyone was continuously checking the weather. It went back and forth, between rain and snow. On the morning of their wedding, we woke up to a sunny day and everything covered in snow! It was breathtaking and made for a gorgeous wedding. Congratulations to the newlyweds!

The New Mr. & Mrs. Damian and Melanie Valvo…

Melanie and Damian’s story starts back in grade school, where I also met them. Over the years their friendship grew, and while at college, it became a strong love for each other. After college, they moved to Charleston so that Melanie could attend MUSC, and soon decided to tie the knot!

They exchanged wedding vows on November 7, 2009 at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist on Broad Street in Charleston, SC. The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Francis Marion Hotel.

Damian’s uncle is the famous fashion designer Carmen Marc Valvo. Carmen designed the bridesmaid’s and mother’s dresses for the wedding.

Shannon & Jay Tomasulo Trash that DRESS!

Shannon and Jay were married this past October at the breath taking Pearl River Hilton in New York. Recently, they decided to make a trip to Charleston, SC for a trash the dress session. For their session, we started down town and worked our way towards Folly Beach. We had so much fun, with Shannon’s dad as our chauffeur! We would spot an awesome backdrop/building and all jump out of the car! Take a look at some of my favorites below and on the slideshow…

On a side note, Shannon’s beautiful dress is from the famous Kleinfeld Manhattan, the bridal store from “Say Yes to the Dress.” We have her dress for sale in our Charleston studio if anyone is interested!

The Beautiful Gallimore-Lane Wedding…

Katie Gallimore and Jim Ed Lane were married on September 26, 2009 at the Pawleys Island Chapel. The chapel sits on stilts in the marsh, so from the inside the only thing you see around you is the marsh! It’s a breath taking place to begin a life together as husband and wife.

Katie’s long time friend Ross works for Vineyard Vines. He had these ties specially made for their wedding! Some of the images will be in there next catalog!

Katie & Jim Ed’s Golf, Lunch, & Rehearsal…

Katie and Jim Ed booked me to cover their entire wedding weekend in Pawleys Island, SC. First on the schedule was Jim Ed’s golf tournament, better known as the “GL Invitational.” The tournament took place at the beautiful Pawleys Plantation Golf & Country Club. For some reason they trusted me with a golf cart and I was set free to go all over the golf course! The guys were so much fun to hang out with and for two hours they behaved themselves for me, mainly because of the camera. However, when I left I heard that’s when the real excitement began!

I have a thing with Oak Trees and this one is gorgeous! It has so much character.

While the guys were enjoying the warm fall day with a game of “competitive” golf, the girls met at High Hammock Restaurant for a classy Bridal Luncheon. This gave Katie some time to spend with her closest family and friends who came in for the wedding.

Both groups came together that night for the rehearsal and dinner. The dinner was hosted by Dave’s Dockside Restaurant in Murrells Inlet, SC.

Myra Ranta is the owner of Incredible Edibles in Pawleys Island. She is the brilliant cake designer behind this amazing groom’s cake. So why dentures? Jim Ed, along with many groomsmen, is a dentist. He just opened his new practice in Murfreesboro, TN, Lane Dentistry.

The New Rich & Lisa Keber…

October 10, 2009 Rich and Lisa wed in Myrtle Beach, SC. The intimate ceremony took place at the Embassy Suites Hotel inside the Kingston Resort. The couple was so much fun to work with and so laid back! In the middle of the ceremony the bottom fell out and it started to down pour. Judge Buffy cut to the end and standing in the rain they shared their first married kiss! Talk about an amazing moment! They storm passed and left behind the most breath taking sky that I have ever seen.

I’ll just let the pictures tell the rest.

How amazing is this! Lisa was so awesome, she didn’t let the rain bother her at all!!

There are no words that can describe the sky and it’s reflection in the water. I don’t think I have ever seen anything like it!

The New Mr. & Mrs. John and Kimberly Benford…

Kimberly has been a familiar face on my blog this year and she finally made it to the wedding!! Her and John were married on September 19th, 2009 at the First Baptist Church in Georgetown, SC. Their beautiful ceremony was followed by a reception at the South Island Plantation in Georgetown. It was their first time having a wedding at their location, and they did a fabulous job!! To top off the night, everyone jumped in the pool!! It was awesome and I am so thankful to have been apart of such a beautiful and special day in your lives!

The cake tasted just as amazing as it looks!!

After a long day of wedding bliss, who wouldn’t want to get in the pool!!….ok and maybe a few cocktails were their too!!

Some chose to jump, some were pushed like these two on the left! So which of my next weddings is up for this??

Shelley & Tyler Bischoff’s Wedding Day…

Shelley and Tyler were married September 18th, 2009 in Myrtle Beach, SC. Their ceremony was at the First Baptist Church in downtown Myrtle, followed by a reception at the Myrtle Beach Train Depot. I have worked closely with Shelley through the entire wedding process and was so happy to see it all come together so smoothly!! Everything just fell right into place for them and I’ve never seen so much dancing at a reception…even limbo!! The New Mr. & Mrs. Beall…

Blynn and Sabrina were married on September 5, 2009 at Pine Lakes Country Club in Myrtle Beach, SC. The weather was perfect! Sunny, blue sky (with the right amount of white fluffy clouds), not too hot and not too cold! It all came together to make a “portfolio” wedding. The bridesmaids wore bright orange dresses. I remember Sabrina telling me that when she picked the color out, everyone questioned her….probably thinking she was crazy! Those dresses made the pictures! The orange, paired with the guys sear-sucker suites, a bright blue sky and green green grass made for a gorgeous wedding. Let’s also not forget how amazing the bride and groom are. They had me crying by the end of the ceremony.

To the bride and groom, THANK YOU!! I have had so much fun with you guys over the past year. I look forward to getting to know you both even better! Merry Christmas

Michael & Lindsey Guzdek…

On September 1, 2009, Michael and Lindsey wed in Litchfield Beach, SC. They were surrounded by close family and friends during their intimate beach ceremony. While we were setting up for the ceremony, a group of people had gathered about 100 feet down the beach. They were watching sea turtle eggs!! Unfortunately, we did not get to see them hatch, but they did hatch later that night and people emailed the pictures to the bride and groom! What an awesome wedding gift!
