To photograph Brooklyn’s two year session, I met him and his mom, Meredith on the campus of the Citadel.  As we played and walked the campus taking pictures, mainly chasing around Brooklyn, I slowly learned their amazing story.  Brooklyn’s father went to the Citadel and passed away while Brooklyn was a small baby.  By doing his pictures at this location it felt as though his dad was with us.  It was powerful seeing the images of Brooklyn with the Citadel cadets in the background.  We met one cadet who offered his dress hat to Brooklyn!  It was like Brooklyn knew that it was a very special hat and he had to be extra careful with it.  Those images were taken with the Bell Tower in the background.  Brooklyn knows that his daddy now rests inside the Bell Tower and went inside to show me where.   I couldn’t even imagine raising Miles without Caleb.  I have so much respect for Meredith and how strong she is!  She is such an amazing mother and I will always have them in my thoughts.
